You summed it up succinctly: "Briefly stated, I have moved from vigilance to mania to information overload to worry to depression and now I feel an ember of hope." We are still in line to schedule our vaccinations. But at least the door is finally open, so we hope to get them soon! Then that ember of hope will grow! Intellectually, I knew a pandemic was possible (having seen Contagion in the theatres); however, I didn't really understand the impact until it actually happened. I had an increase in energy in the first few months in trying to address the practical, social, and emotional challenges. Now I am just beat down. The silver lining is that now I have a lot more empathy for people who live with pervasive depression disorder. I have been low energy, pessimistic, and incapable of taking regular, full breaths for months. But I can see a pinhole light at the end of the tunnel now that I've had my first vaccination! Karen D.
